Creepy stringzors

Loving the strings and original progression. beats good and the best part is the pulsy bass ;-]

Would be awesome at a Halloween party \o/

Thanks man :)

maze of awesomeness

this is the sort of stuff i really enjoy making, messed up sounds with a minor chord progression. Should be well above the total crap at the top of the industrial list that never seems to shift. loving the stuttered bass kicks and the randomness around the middle is really cool. i would compress the main synth and pack it out with effects/ reverb if it was me but your stuff has a really cool vidio game style to it which kinda puts it in a genre of its own =)

IceMasterDlux responds:

Wow! Thank you so much! I'm really glad you actually reviewed and liked it! This really means a lot to me dude, thank you a ton! I'll keep that stuff in mind when I do industrial again. Seriously, thank you man. God bless!

Nice use of reverb

You have some really beautiful synths here and id love to hear and extension to what you already have in terms of melody. feels like you have an epic build and the first part to a really nice melody combined with a 4/4 sub bass kick.

Keep it up!

9/10

thanks man...I`m working on it:)

Epic track

Amazing track dude, not lacking depth or sounding half arsed at all.

The string section behind the leads really carried the song along with style. Along with the marching band style percussion and melodies, the general rhythm really made the song sound epic. The leads were top notch and complemented each other perfectly. Perfect old school RPG track.

The only issue i had with it was the part you pointed out, the end sounded out of place as the rest of the track seemed to have alot more detail. oh and possibly lower the attack on the leads in the quiter part, the first one for example, should make the louder parts more epic maybe.

Im was hiding from angry pirates on eve online when i heard this, made me want to go out and die in a glorious ball of fire xD

Step responds:

Haha, thanks for the review! Expect a monster review anytime soon >:3.

Well, the fact that I don't think it's lacking depth is because I usually have more than just a Cello and Double Bass in the background. Usually I'd try and have brass, Violins, Violas, Cellos and Double Basses all playing together to provide the depth, so in comparion with some of the songs I'm working on right now, I think this does need a bit more depth.

Glad you found the song epic, that's sort of what I was going for: a mix of epic and majestic.

Yeah, the ending. I got tired and just jotted in a melody, added a buildup, and abruptly ended it with a note that is shorter than it should've been. I'll see if I can get my lazy self to go back to the 3 or 4 FLP's I used to make this and try and get the ending right... Also, the attack idea never occured to me, I'll give it a try.

Lol, a glorious ball of fire would fit with this song xD. Anyway, thanks for the helpful review man. Time to return the favour :D.

Lovely!

The piano parts were my favorite, nice use of delay and reverb. The hits were rich and gave the track some power. The whole structure is dynamic and doesnt get boring easily. Im seeing this in a classic RPG.

The only down side is i would make the percussion more dominant but thats more personal taste so im giving full marks =]

Step responds:

Hey, thanks for the review. The Audio Advertisement thread works :D. Some of those hits are actually heavily reverbed shakers. After putting a shaker in the wrong FX channel which had reverb in it, I found out how cool they sound with reverb xP. The others would be reverbed kicks and a heavily edited FL sound effect, called 'FX_Eh' or something :P. As for the percussion, actually I agree with you. I made the kick too loud, and the rest of the samples ended up too quiet. Still, the volume of the drums is tricky - if I make the volume too high, the delayed/phased hat lines would start to get annoying, although I think that snare definitely needs some more volume. Anyway, thanks for the review, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

this is your best yet

your fusion of modern and classical is what your best at. i keep thinking.......shit, is that a synth or is that real? the only thing that sounds synthetic is the bass. id like to know if im right or not =]

ofcourse 10 for this

pmintz responds:

Most of them are real.
since i use garage band, there are a lot of real instrument sounds.
i like those better too.

i like

the fact your using real instruments in your tracks, that instantly sets it appart from others. and fusing them with synths is one of the most creative forms of music imo.
i dont like the scale your using though, but thats just me. i like epicness + cheese =p

keep at it, its good to see someone whos not afraid to mix things up.

pmintz responds:

i love to mix it up.
What scale do you mean? sorry im ignorant to "technical" music terms since i dont have any other musical talents.

feeling it

your use of the minor scale was spot on industrial style =]
great build, left me wanting more.

10/10

moar please!

kickboxer89 responds:

thank you for the review. glad to read you feel it! its a pretty old piece though...
i should try to do something similar now that I know more about music!
