Well.. i actually like that logo...
I slapped together a bunch of different versions. If you see one you like, I can render it at a higher resolution, throw the "Elfire" text on it, add a transparency, and/or tweak the textures fairly easily.

I'm far from proffesional at it, and it cost me a night of sleep, but I'm sure you've dedicated more than that to your listeners. It's kinda of animated-y but I tried to stick to the original concept while adding a bit or two.
